Using Categories
Event Categories are a powerful way to organize your events so that your audience can find what they are looking for. This categorization can also help with search engine optimization too.
Your Event Categories and Event Shortcodes can be found by navigating within your event website to Event Smart > Events > Categories.
Here are your categories: https://YOURSITE.eventsmart.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_events&action=category_list
On that page you'll also see the Category and Shortcode for each category.
- Here is a document about using Shortcodes. You can create a page or post of events for a given category if you add that category shortcode to a Page or Post.
- By default a category page is created for each category. This is the format https://YOURSITE.eventsmart.com/event-category/education/. Where in that example "education" is the slug. Each event category has a front-end page in that format. https://YOURSITE.eventsmart.com/event-category/slug/
- You can link to those pages directly via links, or add them to your navigation menus. See: Appearance > Menus, Menu User Guide and Creating Website Navigation
That will help people find the events based on your categorization.
