White Labeling Event Smart with a Custom Domain and Email Address

Thanks to recent infrastructure upgrades, you can now white-label Event Smart with a custom domain! This allows you to replace your subdomain (e.g., example.eventsmart.com) with your own domain (e.g., eventwebsite.com), send emails from a branded address (e.g., orders@eventdomain.com), and integrate other services under your domain—completely removing Event Smart branding.

With a custom domain your event website could be any available domain, such as:

  • eventdomain.com
  • yourbrandclasses.com
  • brandconference.com
  • mysuperawesomeclasses.com
  • etc.

Whatever domain is available, you can use.

Here’s an example of a customer, Tom Davis, using the Event Smart network with our white-labeling service: https://tomdavisevents.com/. Take note of the custom domain and URL branding. If you were to register for an event, you’d also see the custom email address (orders@tomdavisevents.com) and other personalized elements. Every visitor to their event website sees only their branding, which strengthens brand identity and builds customer loyalty.

  • Configuring reCaptcha on the custom domain to block spam registrations.
  • Integrating Google Maps with the custom domain for event listings.
  • Updating domain DNS records for you (if granted access).

  • Can I still use my event website to do as many events and registrations as I want?
    Answer: Yes, using a custom domain does not limit your ability to use Event Smart, nor limit you in the number of events or registrations.
  • Do I need to purchase my own domain?
    Answer: Yes, you will need to purchase a domain.
  • Does this impact SEO?
    Answer: Yes, but because we can redirect your old website to your new website, we can keep your SEO intact, furthermore your custom domain can help you rank better for your brand.

Process (if you're interested)

Adding a new custom domain is not overly difficult, but it is fairly technical. I recently assisted another customer, and what should have taken 1-2 days ended up taking almost three weeks due to DNS configuration issues. Therefore, we strongly recommend registering the domain through us so we can manage and update the DNS records for you, ensuring a smoother setup process.

  1. Choose to either register a new domain or use an existing one.
  2. Let us know the domain name you’d like to use.
  3. We’ll start by integrating your custom domain into our systems, including the Event Smart Network, email, reCaptcha, Google Maps, and more.
  4. Update the DNS records (either by you or by us, if we have access). This step is the most technically complex part of the process.
  5. Create your custom email address (e.g., orders@EVENTDOMAIN.COM) or set up an email forwarder. This can be done by you or by us, if we have access. Keep in mind that some domain registrars may charge additional fees for custom email addresses. However, if you register your domain through us, we can forward emails from orders@… to another email address at no extra cost.
  6. Once the DNS records have fully propagated, we can assign your custom domain to your Event Smart website.
  7. Perform a full search and replace across the entire database, updating all instances of the old sub-domain to the new custom domain.
  8. Configure the server to redirect all old URLs to the corresponding new custom domain URLs.

This entire process can be completed within two business days if done efficiently. However, if a customer is unfamiliar with updating DNS records, it can drag on for weeks. To avoid delays and frustration, we strongly recommend registering the domain through us, ensuring a smoother and faster setup. However, if you have someone on your team that is competent with DNS records, you're welcome to register your domain wherever you wish.
